David Tomas Martinez

David Tomas Martinez received a master’s degree from San Diego State University and is perpetually one test from completing his Ph.D. from the University of Houston. Martinez is the author of Post Traumatic Hood Disorder (Sarabande Books, 2018) and Hustle (Sarabande Books, 2014). He is a recipient of a Pushcart Prize and the Verlaine Poetry Prize and has received fellowships from CantoMundo, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Martinez is co-creator and co-owner of Police & Thieves, a women and minority owned and operated recreational marijuana dispensary.

Kelsy Yates

Kelsy Yates received a master’s degree in interior design and holds two master’s degrees in creative writing. She worked for many years in design until she became invested in marijuana in 2010. She is an owner of the former dispensary Frosted Leaf and is now the co-owner and co-creator of Police & Thieves, a women and minority owned and operated recreational marijuana dispensary. Her philanthropic work includes service on the boards of S.P and Estelle Yates Family Foundation and La Luz Foundation in New Mexico. As a mother and business owner, Kelsy aims to celebrate and further the rich tradition of businesses and culture by people on the periphery.
